Caducity... try this. Choose a custom race and pick warlord and +50 defense. Research ECM jammer and inertial stabilizer, and equip both on your ships. I don't know about your lan games, but online, often people don't bother with eccm because they also mostly don't bother with ecm jammer and figure ...

It's a little strange to me that you want to avoid forcing someone to take a serious negative. After all, it's the Very Difficult Choice Mod, so shouldn't the negative race picks be a VDC? Are you sure about the income with food reps? I could swear it was charging me a BC per food generated. Well, I haven't played online with it yet, so BIG DISCLAIMER. :D Armor barracks are wicked cheap now, and no maintenance, so it seems to make sense to build them anywhere you won't be building your transports. Given your rules, you don't leave a lot of options for negatives. Prod, research, food penalties are all horrible ideas, money is not good either (especially if you are relying on cash from demo to buy stuff). Negative spying is a bad idea because demo already has -10... if there isn't a good reason...
